Our links to the local community.
We are proud of the links we have made within the local community. These include
* Macmillan Cancer Charity in particular the new Lister cancer unit.
Thank you so much to everyone as we have been able to send a donation of £1,400, in memory of Jean Vaughan, to the new Macmillan centre at the Lister Hospital.
The centre wrote to thank us 'Your donation will ensure that we help patients, carers, families and communities every step of the way. It will allow us to fund more nurses and therapists to help people through cancer treatment. I hope you think this will provide a fitting tribute to the memory of Jean.'
The new centre opened on June 16th 2014. You will be able to see the bench in the garden. There will be a plaque which says 'Donated by the friends of Jean Vaughan through the efforts of the Stevenage and Knebworth Arts Group'.
Last year £530 was raised at the Macmillan Coffee mornings. This amount was matched by SKAG. Once again thank you for your generosity.
